Jerusalem governorate monitoring occupation violations in Jerusalem during the month of August 2021

 

 (115) arrests and (54) demolitions during August 2021
 
 The Jerusalem Governorate issued its monthly report during August 2021 in the occupied capital, it summarized the totality of the violations it observed into the following results:-
 
 The governorate monitored a number of violations centered around arrests, demolitions, eviction decisions, deportation decisions, house confinement and house arrest, in addition to the daily incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and shedding light on 3 settlement projects.
 
Monitoring 115 arrests, including 21 arrests of women and children.
 During August, Monitor 9 decisions Punishment through deportation from Jerusalem, including 7 decisions of expulsion from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, the periods of deportation ranged from one week to six months.
 On August 6, the Occupation Court imposed house arrest on the Jerusalemites Majed Al-Jubeh, Nasser Al-Hadmi, Salim Al-Jubeh and Yacoub Abu Asab in their areas of residence for a period ranging between 3-6 months, in addition to a decision to prevent them from communicating with group of people.
 
Home confinement decisions issued by the occupation authorities during August were monitored. The first decision was against the child "Nassim Damiri", who is imprisoned for 5 days, and was signed on a financial guarantee of 7,000 shekels, the second decision was against the Jerusalemite activist, "Qutayba Odeh." Which requires him to be imprisoned for a week, a financial guarantee of 1,000 shekels. Third decision against the child, "Hatim Akl", to open house arrest.
 
The racist occupation court issued seven actual prison sentences against prisoners from the occupied city of Jerusalem, among them the actual prison sentence against the two boys “Ayham Al-Shaer” and “Jamal Al-Taweel” to serve a 6-month prison sentence, after they spent a large period (about a one year) in house detention.
 
Among the violations we monitor four injuries after attacks them by the occupation forces and settlers in various areas of Jerusalem.
 The number of demolitions during the month of August reached 54: 23 forcible demolitions and 31 demolitions by occupation mechanisms.
 
The demolitions carried out by the occupation crews included: 20 commercial stores in the town of Hizma, and a bird farm in the village of Al Walaja. The value of the losses was estimated at 400,000 shekels, as well as the homes of citizens sheltering a large number of families. The demolitions also affected a house wall and a fence of land that is more than 40 years old, a nursery belonging to the citizen “Mohammed Hussein Juma’a,” and an extension to a nursery, the occupation authorities fined the owner “Mohammed Salman” 100,000 shekels for demolition costs, even though he forcibly demolished half of it on his own, and facilities and buildings under construction.
 It also forced nine citizens to carry out forced demolitions of 22 homes and residential buildings.
 
On the other hand, the occupation forces carried out excavation works in the lands of Wadi al-Rababa in Silwan, and continued to raze the lands of Hizma, in order to build a new settlement road extending 1 kilometer and a width of 16 meters from the town’s lands.
 The occupation municipality crews also stormed several neighborhoods in Jerusalem and handed a number of residents decisions and notifications of self-demolition on the pretext that their homes were not licensed, including: The Jerusalemite “Yacoub Al-Rajbi”   He have short time until the middle of the month to demolish his homes and two shops in Silwan.
 
The occupation authorities handed eviction notices to 55 members from Abu Khdeir family, and forcing them to forcibly evict from their homes and to stay in one apartment with an area not exceeding 110 meters, and threatened to demolish it.
 
Through the continuation of the policy of the new occupation government in the approach of those who preceded it from the governments, the so-called “interior minister” in the occupation government stressed the necessity of evacuating the village of “Al-Khan Al-Ahmar” east of Jerusalem to abide by the decision of the Supreme Court, and that postponing the decision in the first weeks and months of the new government does not mean Not evacuating the village.
 
 The occupation continued to attack Al-Nabi Samuel Mosque by laying floor tiles on the side yard and preventing entry to the mosque except those who hold the village ID through the occupation’s security guard.
 In terms of restricting Palestinian activities and the Palestinian presence in the occupied capital, the occupation forces prevented the holding of a children’s festival in the town of Beit Hanina, and also prevented the holding of a chess tournament in the AL-Dar Hotel in Jerusalem. The Issawiya Youth Club accepted, funded by the Jerusalem Endowment Fund and bears the name “The Jerusalem Regiment.” The club’s president, Aziz Khaled Obaid, was arrested, as the occupation intelligence justified that the ceremony was organized and financed by the Palestinian Authority.
