Palestinian children in the occupied city of Jerusalem suffer great dangers, as the occupation works to target and abuse them through arrests and physical and psychological attack, in addition to targeting their schools, curricula, and institutions that sponsor their rights and social frameworks. It is worth mentioning that the percentage of Jerusalemite children (0-14 years old) is about 39% of the total number of Jerusalemites in the city.

 

Through the reports issued by the Jerusalem governorate about the violations of the occupation in the governorate during the months of January and February this year, about 40 children were arrested, and the occupation courts issued about four house arrests and two actual detention decisions.

 

Wadi Hilweh website, during their monitoring of arrests for the month of February 2022 in Jerusalem, mentioned 166 arrests, including "three children under the generation of responsibility (under 12 years old), 53 minors, and 9 females, including a girl."

 

The site also mentioned the arrest of a child under the generation of responsibility and 41 minors during the month of January 2022. A total of 4 children under the age of responsibility, 94 minors and 1 child, during the two months.

 

Several injuries were also recorded among the children's category, including: a 6-month-old child and a child with special needs during the events in the Bab al-Amud area in memory of Al-Isra and Al-Miraj.
