"Five martyrs, including a child, 688 arrests, 68 demolitions, and about 11,000 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first quarter of 2022".
Al-Quds Governorate monitored the violations of the Israeli occupation in the governorate during the first quarter of 2022, which witnessed an increase in the frequency of violations, during which the occupation deliberately executed a policy of cold-blooded execution.
Among the most prominent violations that the governorate witnessed during the first quarter of 2022 was the rise of (5) martyrs, including a child, (4) martyrs of whom rose during the month of March, and they are: the martyr (Karim Al-Qawasmi, 19 years old) and the martyred child (Yamen Javal, 16 year), the martyr (Abdul Rahman Qassem, 22 years old), and the martyr (Alaa Shaham, 20 years old). As for the settlers’ attacks, the first quarter of 2022 witnessed an increase, as the settlers’ attacks reached (104), including 29 physical abuses. The occupation government deliberately provides a cover for the settlers’ practices, with evidence of legal and illegal manipulation and fraud to provide a safety net that protects these aggressors, As the powerful tool of the extremist occupation policy to implement and achieve their goals.
It is noted that there has been a fivefold increase in the frequency of settler attacks in Jerusalem governorate during the first quarter of 2022 and 2021, in which 18 attacks carried out by settlers were observed.
As for the injuries resulting from the use of excessive force by the occupation forces against Jerusalemites throughout the occupied capital, about (903) injuries were recorded with live and rubber bullets, severe beatings, pepper gas and suffocation. Dozens of them were subsequently transferred to hospitals for treatment. The highest was during the month of February, in which about (800) injuries were recorded. In addition to hundreds of cases of suffocation with tear gas.
And regarding the violations that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed to, and in a clear and explicit violation of the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the settlers’ incursions escalated during the first quarter of 2022, as it was monitored (11,104) settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning and evening periods, with strict protection from the occupation police. It is noted that there is a significant increase, almost double, in the number of extremist settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first quarter of 2022 and 2021, during which it was monitored that about (6200) settlers and Jewish students stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first quarter of it.
On the daily campaign of arrests launched by the occupation forces under false pretexts, the governorate monitored 688 arrests of Jerusalemite citizens, including (35) women, the most prominent of which was the arrest of (54) young men who were arrested during the snowy depression that affected the country in January, on charges of Throwing snow on settlers and policemen. It is reported that the month of January was the highest month for arrests.
It is noted that the pace of arrests launched by the occupation in Jerusalem governorate increased during the first quarter of 2022 and 2021, in which (465) arrests were made, including (24 women).
The racist occupation courts issued (77) actual prison sentences against Jerusalemite prisoners. Among those decisions are administrative detention decisions against (14) prisoners, among whom is Hajj "Amin Al-Shweiki, 61 years old", for the third time in a row, whose illness or old age did not excuse him. A year of oppression.
Among the violations monitored by the Jerusalem governorate, the issuance of (35) decisions of house arrest, and (56) decisions of deportation of Jerusalemite citizens during the first three months of 2022 in the city of Jerusalem. In addition to (9) unfair travel_ ban decisions against citizens, the period of which ranged from one to six months.
With regard to the file of demolitions during the first quarter of 2022, the number of demolitions reached (68) operations: (26) forcible demolitions, (42) demolitions by occupation mechanisms, and (11) bulldozing operations. Dozens of notices for the demolition of homes and commercial facilities were also handed over.
The occupation mechanisms also carried out 42 demolitions, which lasted; (12) houses and apartments, (21) commercial establishments, a medical center, a cemetery under construction, a stable for horses, barracks, agricultural rooms, and retaining walls.

As part of the occupation’s efforts to impose a new reality in the occupied capital, the occupation authorities have approved 21 new settlement plans, including projects to build unity and settlement neighborhoods in the heart of the occupied capital and its outskirts, in addition to plans to seize Palestinian property and replace Talmudic gardens to imbue their neighborhoods and towns with a Jewish character. Most notably: the approval of the establishment of a huge Judaization center on the "Mount of Olives" in occupied East Jerusalem, at a cost of millions of shekels. The visitor center is to contain an information center on the tens of thousands of Jews buried on the Mount of Olives. It will also include (a synagogue, a training center, libraries, ticket shops, a cemetery gallery, an auditorium, a tomb research institute and cartography and an observation center).
