The Public Relations and Media Unit in the Governorate of Jerusalem issued its monthly report on the violations of the Israeli occupation in the governorate for the month of April 2022, in which it summarized the total violations of the occupation aimed at imposing its sovereignty over the Jerusalem capital and its attempts to Judaize it.

On April 15, the young man, "Fawaz Hamayel", director of the Youth and Sports Department in the Jerusalem governorate, died as a result of the wounds he sustained as a result of the "internationally forbidden dumdum" bullets fired by the occupation at a close distance while the occupation forces stormed his hometown. It is reported that the martyr Hamayel is 46 years old, and he is the father of 3 children.

And during the month of April, the occupation authorities renewed a decision of the Governor of Jerusalem, "Adnan Ghaith", to prevent him from entering the West Bank, after he was arrested from his home in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. It is reported that Governor Ghaith has been subjected to dozens of arrests and summonses since taking office in August 2018. The occupation places him under house arrest in the town of Silwan, and prevents him from communicating with dozens of Palestinian figures.

Also, the Jerusalem Governorate monitored during the month of April the injuries resulting from the use of excessive force by the occupation forces against the citizens in various parts of the occupied capital, as it monitored (463) injuries, the majority of which were concentrated in the upper areas of the body, which led to fractures and internal bleeding, and some of them lost their eyes as a result of direct injuries. in the Al Ain region.

On the third Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, which corresponded to the 22nd of April, the young Jerusalemite Walid Al-Sharif (23 years) was injured during the confrontations that erupted in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. On his brain cells, he suffered from severe bleeding in the brain and fractures of the skull, and he is currently in a coma, according to medical reports, and his health condition is very difficult and critical.

In addition, the settlers' herds continued their attacks and provocations, as they carried out (42) attacks, including (8) assaults with bodily harm.

The courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed violent confrontations during the month of April, during which the occupation fired rubber bullets, tear gas and sound bombs towards the worshipers, without regard to the sanctity and sanctity of the place.

The most violent incursions were on April 15, which coincided with the second Friday of Ramadan, when Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed violent confrontations, which began from dawn until ten in the morning, during which the occupation forces invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, which resulted in the injury of about (160 worshipers), 80% of whom were transferred. In a related context, the occupation police issued restrictions on the access of Christians to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in occupied Jerusalem, and reduced the number of people who celebrate Light Saturday on the eve of Easter Sunday, in contravention of the most basic human rights and freedom of worship. The racist occupation courts also issued 23 actual prison sentences against Jerusalemite prisoners, including 14 administrative detention sentences. As part of a continuous attempt to suppress Jerusalem institutions and any Jerusalem efforts within the city of Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation forces renewed, at the beginning of April, the closure of 28 active Palestinian institutions, associations and bodies in the occupied city of Jerusalem. Among these associations were the Orient House, the Prisoner's Club and other Palestinian institutions in the city, under the pretext that they would not allow "Israeli sovereignty over a united Jerusalem" to be breached, as they claimed.
