Three martyrs, 453 arrests, and about 1550 injuries, the number of violations by the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem Governorate during May 2021.

 
Jerusalem - Very violent confrontations erupted in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the 28th of Ramadan corresponding to May 10th , and on the same day the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip began,  all Palestinians from Ras Al-Naqoura to the Negev protested against the occupation's violations in occupied Jerusalem and against the war act on Gaza strip. All the entrances towns, and neighborhoods, as well as the military checkpoints of the occupation forces in the Jerusalem governorate, turned into very high and hot confrontation zones. more confrontations spread throughout the whole governorate, in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah.
 
In May, for the first time in the modern Palestinian history, a total uprising against the occupation broke out in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jerusalem and the Occupied Territories of  1948, at the same time and on May 18th  a total strike spread throughout the country that took place in support of Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, and also in protest against the Israeli aggression. "On all the occupied Palestinian territories, and the strike included every single entity in private and public sector.
 
During May 2021, the Public Relations and Media Unit in Jerusalem Governorate monitored: three martyrs from the Jerusalem Governorate: On the 16th of May, the martyr (Shaher Abu Khadija, 41 years old) from Kafr Aqab town , killed while the occupation forces were directly firing live ammunition at him in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood  and medical staffs were prevented from trying to save him. On the 18th of May, the martyr (Muhammad Ishaq Hamid, 25 years old) from Beit Anan town , killed after he was shot by live bullets in the chest during clashes that broke out at the northern entrance of Al-Bireh city of. On the 24th of May the child (Zuhdi Al-Tawil, 17 years old) from Kafr Aqab town , killed after the occupation forces fired live bullets at him directly at the "light train" station, near Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
 
The Jerusalem Governorate also monitored during the month of May many injuries resulting from the use of excessive force against the Jerusalemites in various parts of the occupied capital, as about 1,550 injuries with live and metal-coated bullets and severe beatings were detected, and hundreds of injured were transferred to hospitals for treatment, as well as many other injuries were recorded and Cases of suffocation due to firing of excessive tear gas canisters by the Israeli occupation forces.
 
The Public Relations and media Unit in Jerusalem governorate monitored 453 arrests of Jerusalemites, 70 of them in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. Also 49 deportation decisions were monitored during the month of May in the city, including 15 deportation decisions against women, about 31 of them were for deportation from Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the deportation periods ranged from one month to six months. In addition, 20 house arrest decisions issued by the occupation authorities against Jerusalemites were monitored also during the month of May, and the period of decisions ranged from five days to two weeks.
 
The occupation courts issued sentences of actual imprisonment against prisoners in the Jerusalem governorate, 18 arbitrary sentences of actual imprisonment were monitored, including 12 decisions of administrative detention for a period ranging between 3 months and 6 months.
 
In addition to the series of violations of the Israeli occupation in the governorate, the occupation authorities cut off health insurance on 15th prisoners and released prisoners and their families as well in the city of Jerusalem,  and they are: ( Amir Zughayer, Rami Baraka, Muhammad Arnaout, Omar Zghayer). And the released prisoners (the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in Jerusalem, Shadi Mutour, Nasser Abu Khdeir, Majid Al-Jaaba, Rami Al-Fakhoury, Hamza Zughayer, Muhammad Abu Subaih, Rawhi Kalghasi, Jamil al-Abbasi, Muhammad Zaghair, Nour Shalabi, Osama al-Rajabi, and Marwan Natsheh).
 
During the month of May, the occupation courts made several decisions regarding the forced displacement on the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, including: On May 3rd , the decision to freeze the registration of Kabaniyet Umm Haroun properties in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. On May 6th , four families threatened with eviction in the Sheikh Al-Jarrah neighborhood due to their response not to accept any settlement with the Israeli settlers. On the 26th of May, the Occupation Court postponed the decision on the evacuation of seven families in Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood until next December.
 
 On the 26th of May, the occupation municipality delivered several summons for several Palestinians from Silwan town to review the occupation municipality, "under the pretext of building without a permit, on the same context" Siyam" family in the old city of Jerusalem received a demolition order.
 
The institutions in Jerusalem were not spared from the occupation’s violations as well, the occupation forces attacked three times during the month of May, the Makassed Charitable Association Hospital in Jerusalem, and subjected its employees for field interrogation. In addition, the occupation forces' patrols  deliberately caused a fire in the cafeteria building at Al-Quds University in the town of Abu Dis after throwing many bombs at the university campus.
They also suppressed the solidarity stands and activities carried out by the people of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood against the occupation’s decision to forcibly displace residents of the homes of 7 families from the neighborhood in favor of settlement associations.
 
Settlers attacks in Jerusalem increased  three times during May compared to last April. 63 attacks on peoples and properties were recorded, the most severe of which was in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where settlers carried out 17 attacks. And with the help of the occupation forces.
 
As for Al-Aqsa incursions, 1205 settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of May which happened on 14 different separate incursions and with cover and the assistance of the occupation forces, carrying out provocative tours around the compound, bearing in mind that the occupation forces prevented residents and worshipers from entering the Mosque during the storming periods.
 
The month of May witnessed international Palestinian-Arab interaction and support movement with the Sheikh Jarrah case through social media hash tags (#Save-Hay-Sheikh-Jarrah), 4 million people posted it, and the hash tag (#savesheikhjarrah), 4.6 million people posted on it as well) .
