The Public Relations and Media Unit in Jerusalem Governorate issued its report for July 2023, on the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the Jerusalem Governorate, in which it summarized the overall violations monitored in the neighborhoods and towns of the governorate.
Death Barriers
The occupation forces obstructed the transfer of the citizen "Munadil Ahmed Jubran Jabarin" from the Makassed Ambulance Center in Abu Dis to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem at the occupation leader's checkpoint for more than half an hour, which led to his death in a very critical situation, because doctors were unable to provide him with the necessary aid.
Targeting national figures
As part of the occupation's attempts to control, oppress and destroy trees, stones and people, the occupation authorities continue their crimes against the national figures of Jerusalem, as the occupation court held a trial session for the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, and demanded the occupation Public Prosecution to effectively imprison the governor for eight months, based on two indictments previously issued against Governor Ghaith.
Lawyer Rami Othman objected to what was presented by the occupation prosecution against the governor, and the decision on the verdict was postponed until after the end of the judicial holiday in the occupied entity.
It is noteworthy that the governor has been subject to open house arrest since August last year, in addition to five unjust decisions imposed on him since he assumed his duties as governor of Jerusalem, the capital, in 2018, which are renewed periodically every 4 months.
The occupation intelligence also handed over the secretary of the Fatah movement in Jerusalem, Shadi Mutawar, a summons for interrogation at the "Russian Compound" center of the occupation, and the occupation intelligence handed Mutawar a decision to deport him from the West Bank for an additional 6 months.
  
The occupation forces handed the Jerusalemite activist "Nasser Abu Khdeir" a decision to prevent him from entering the West Bank, and to restrict his movement and work inside occupied Jerusalem, in addition to preventing him from communicating with a number of Jerusalemite figures.
The Hebrew media continued to incite against the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, and demanded his deportation from Jerusalem because of his call for solidarity with Jenin during the Friday sermon.
On July 11, the occupation renewed his travel ban for six months, arguing that his travel poses a danger to the occupation.
The Deputy Director of the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem, Sheikh Najeh Bkirat, was informed of the renewal of the "travel ban" for a period of 6 months, and on July 12, the occupation authorities deported Bkirat from Jerusalem to the city of Bethlehem for a period of 6 months. The occupation also renewed the travel ban against the head of the Jerusalem Anti-Judaization Committee, Nasser Al-Hadmi, for a period of 6 months.
Strike prevails in Jerusalem governorate in support of Jenin and its camp
The comprehensive strike spread throughout the Jerusalem governorate at the invitation of the national and Islamic forces in Jerusalem, in mourning for the martyrs of Jenin camp and condemning the siege imposed by the occupation on the camp.
Clashes erupted with the Israeli occupation forces in a number of towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem in support of Jenin refugee camp.
Settler Attacks
The settlers carried out a march commemorating the destruction of the Temple, which is one of the most prominent crimes against the Holy City and attempts to obliterate its Palestinian identity.
The settlers also carried out 15 attacks against Jerusalemites, including 5 physical abuse.
The Israeli occupation forces also raided the house of the Sublaban family in Aqbat Al-Khalidiya in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, evicted it from its residents and handed it over to settlers.
The Israeli occupation forces also arrested the supporters.
  
 Injuries
During the month of July, the Jerusalem governorate monitored injuries resulting from the use of excessive force by the Israeli occupation forces against Jerusalemites throughout the occupied capital.
About 17 injuries were recorded as a result of live and rubber-coated metal bullets and severe beatings by the Israeli occupation forces, in addition to hundreds of cases of gas suffocation.
Crimes against Al-Aqsa Mosque
The Jerusalem governorate monitored the incursions of extremist settlers into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of July, as (6542) settlers and (90497) under the name of tourism stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the strict protection of the heavily armed special occupation forces.
The occupation police also prevented the employees of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Reconstruction Committee from working in all sections of the Al-Aqsa Reconstruction Committee completely, and threatened to arrest the employees if they did their work.
On 4 July, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 3 employees of the Islamic Endowments Department from Al-Aqsa Mosque
.On July 20, one of the perennial olive trees fell in the courtyards of the blessed Al- Aqsa Mosque, where the reasons for its fall are likely the ongoing excavations below the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Arrests
As for the arrests file, about (151) cases of arrests of citizens were monitored in all areas of the Jerusalem governorate during the month of July, including (14) children and (4) women.
Decisions of the occupation courts
The occupation courts impose unfair decisions against the detainees, ranging from the issuance of actual prison sentences and the imposition of house arrest, in addition to deportation decisions and heavy fines, including those against whom the occupation court issued travel ban decisions, in addition to extending the detention of a large number of detainees for long months without bringing clear charges against them.
   
1. Actual prison sentences The racist occupation courts issued (34) actual prison sentences against Jerusalemite prisoners, the highest of which was the sentencing of Jerusalemite prisoner Qusai Alyan for 14 and a half years, and among the rulings (8) administrative detention rulings "without clearly specifying the charge against them", in addition to imposing very heavy fines that increase the suffering of their families.
2. Home Detention Decisions The Jerusalem governorate monitored (20) house arrest orders issued by the occupation authorities against Jerusalemite citizens, including many children.
The duration of the house arrest decisions issued ranged from two days to the open house confinement issued by the occupation authorities against the Jerusalemite oday Ma'irji
.3. Deportation and travel bans The month of July witnessed the issuance of deportation orders by the occupation authorities from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, in an attempt to control Al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding places, so they issued about (21) deportation orders, including (10) deportation decisions from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
As for the travel ban, the occupation forces handed over (7) travel ban orders during July 2023.
Demolitions and bulldozing
One of the most dangerous policies of the occupation in the Jerusalem governorate is the policy of demolition and bulldozing, which aims to change the demographic character of the Holy City, by finding arguments to prevent the license to demolish the dream of Jerusalemites and replace them with settlers.
During the month of July, (36) facilities and land were demolished and bulldozed, in the occupied Jerusalem governorate, of which (8) facilities were forcibly self- demolished, in addition to carrying out (14) excavation and land bulldozing operations.
During the month of July, Israeli occupation vehicles and crews demolished 22 facilities, including houses, agricultural facilities, water tanks, barracks, sheep pens, an external room, and a retaining fence.
 
 Demolitions, forced evictions and land confiscation
The Israeli occupation authorities delivered 5 demolition notices to a number of commercial establishments in the plain of the town of Biddu and in the Ain Al- Louza neighborhood in Silwan.
Forced evictions The Israeli occupation forces raided the house of the Sublaban family in Aqbat Al-Khalidiya in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, forcing its residents to evacuate it and hand it over to the settlers.
Violations against Jerusalem Institutions and Monuments
On July 13, the Israeli Knesset held a session to incite against Arab schools and national curricula in Jerusalem, and the session included incitement against Arab teachers graduating from Palestinian universities in Jerusalem schools.
As part of the attack on medical sites, the Israeli occupation forces raided Al- Makassed Hospital in Al-Tur town in occupied Jerusalem on 9 July.
On July 19, the Israeli police prevented a monk from entering Al-Buraq Square, west of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, accompanied by the German Minister of Education, wearing the Holy Cross on his neck, under the pretext that this endangers his life. The occupation police asked him to remove the cross before entering the square, where the monk tried to explain to them that he was a cleric and that this was a pattern he wore as a monk and that this was an infringement on his personal and religious freedom, but he did not succeed in convincing them to do so.
Violations against journalists
On July 11, the Israeli court ended the decision to detain the Jerusalem journalist Lama Ghosheh, imposing on her 9 months of work for the benefit of the public, and 6 months suspension of execution for a period of 3 years, in addition to paying a fine of 4500 shekels, and Ghosheh's lawyer demanded an appeal hearing against the verdict.
Settlement Projects In July
the occupation authorities approved work on a new settlement project, where the occupation announced its intention to build 450 new settlement units between the towns of um Lison and Jabal Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem, on an area of 12 dunums.
The Israeli government also plans to build a large settlement on the land of a Jerusalem town, and the settlement plan includes the construction of 670
   
settlement units in the town of Beit Safafa, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, according to local media.
In the same context, the occupation authorities continue to work on settlement projects, including: Settlers continue construction work in a new settlement outpost in the area of Al-Sawahra wilderness, east of occupied Jerusalem.The occupation municipality carried out work on Sheikh Jarrah Hill to renovate the site of the "Memorial to the occupation soldiers" and to establish an amphitheater for celebrations, a site for performances, seating seats, a theater, and a fence around the "Memorial", it is noteworthy that the occupation authorities confiscated the land during the past years and demolished a house belonging to the Diab family.
The occupation also completed the construction of the settlement bridge over the lands of the people in the Wadi Al-Rababa neighborhood in Silwan, south of Al- Aqsa, and announced its opening
